SALT - New American Table

Hits and misses was our evening experience. Shishito Peppers: yummy. Pork Belly Appetizer: was not a fan of the burnt edges nor chewy texture. Duck Entree: bland. Fish Tacos: delicious. Mac-n-Cheese: housemade pasta was gummy, cheesy sauce was tasty. Brussel Sprouts: hard to mess up and they did not thankfully. The flameless Baked Alaska: it’s ‘aight! Service: our waitperson kept vanishing, luckily others offered to help.

I dont come often as it is pricy, but when I can I do love to sit by the chefs bar where you can view the food artists create with direction and orginization. The Food from appitizers to desert are 5 star everytime I have visited. It is a really welcoming atmosphere and the service is above and beyond the times I have been there. I usally go for a nice quite dinner once a month here and all the dishes are delicious. The pork chop my goodness, best i have had anywhere, thick full of flavour and juicy. One person charge expect $60+ (App, Main Dish and drink.) Worth it absoultly. :)

This place lives rent-free in my head as one of the best white linen tablecloth restaurants in the valley. In the middle of McAllen is this restaurant, beautifully balanced between fine dining, adventurous plates and casual, personable service. We came here to celebrate an anniversary and this spot made that day even more memorable. The cocktails here are fresh and unique with a ton of flavor. We told them we were celebrating and they brought out a bottle of champagne to share. The drizzled Salt Chips were a tasty introduction to the main event. The Sriracha Shrimp was probably the best shrimp I've eaten in years. I had the seared tuna for the main course which just melted in my mouth. It was so tender! Others had the steak, or salmon. Not a single dish went unclean that night. Everything is fresh, locally sourced here with the menu changing seasonally based on what's available. If you're in the mood for a nice night out, or celebrating something special, Salt does not disappoint. Highly recommend if you're looking for something a little fancy and a lot different than the usual. Prices were a little more than most restaurants but it is definitely worth it. We'll definitely have to visit this place again!

The place is casual and comfy. Our daughter and her husband brought us. We celebrated my wife's birthday and her menu had a personalized birthday greeting. The service showed care without being intrusive, and was cheerful. We had quail for an appetizer, then my wife had fish tacos and I had duck. Both meals were perfectly cooked and nicely plated. I was happy to find something that didn't blow my post heart-attack diet to smithereens. This is a great place for a special time. You get what you pay for. I highly recommend it.

I'll say this...Everything I had was good. I sat at the bar and ended up having dinner. The mac and cheese was great, the ribs were great, the ladies made a mezcal old fashioned for me that was outstanding. I can't give enough praise. I for sure will make my way to Salt next time I'm in town. The music playing in the background was perfect. This place is a vibe.
